Here's what I've been told about these goodies, but of course I'm not a doctor or anyone who can recommend treatment in anyway so don't take my word for it.
Winter melon: said to clean out your colon really well and has a cooling effect on the body.
Thai Chili Peppers: said to contain good antioxidants that can help with digestion, I guess assuming it doesn't burn ya.
Bitter Melons: said to contain very high doses of antioxidants. Also known as Goya. The folks in Okinawa, Japan are said to have the highest life spans compared to folks in other places and this plant is supposedly a big part of their diet. Not the Elixir of Immortality but still good for ya. As the name suggests, it's bitter... more so when cooked than raw. I usually eat it in a soup but today, I tried an omelet and it tasted a lot less bitter.

Next year, I'll see if I can convince this friend to add ginger and lemongrass in the mix. Maybe one of these days, I'll buy a small farm and live off the land too. Maybe...
